Total Warrior, The Ultimate Challenge – Here We Come (again)!
We’ve only gone and signed up for the Total Warrior again!
Total Warrior is an outdoor obstacle course race that takes place in various locations throughout the UK.
A select group of the Tate Oil team have demonstrated that we are clearly gluttons for punishment, and signed up again for the Total Warrior 2023.
Last year, the team took place in our first ever Warrior session in Bramham Park, Leeds. We faced a gruelling 12 km of running and endured 25 obstacles including, high jumps, mud, water , crawls and climbs.
The course gives you the full Warrior experience. It comes packed with some of the world’s best obstacles. Look out for the classics like the ‘Human BBQ’, ’The Plunge’, ‘The Shocker’ and the awesome ‘Waterfall’ which made its debut in 2018. Check out the full course details here.
Last year, most of us saw the Total Warrior as a personal challenge, a goal to aspire to. We trained for weeks leading up to the race and even tried to eat right (the less said about that bit, the better). Let me make it clear, only one of us had ever done any serious running, the rest of are complete amateurs. To complete the race in under two and a half hours, we were ecstatic.
So why do the Total Warrior again?
The feeling of accomplishment on completion and strong feeling of camaraderie, helping colleagues over, under and through treacherous obstacles can’t be underestimated.
We found it to be an amazing bonding experience and have talked about that day ever since.
So, this year we opened up the invite to all of the Tate Oil family and 8 brave (or stupid) warriors stepped forward.
